For more than half a century, Takamine has proudly dedicated itself to the art of fine guitar craftsmanship. Its longstanding devotion to innovation and continual improvement has placed it among the world’s premier acoustic guitar makers, with truly fine instruments that are the first choice of performing guitarists worldwide. With humble beginnings in 1959 as a small family-run guitar shop nestled at the foot of Mount Takamine in the central Japanese town of Sakashita, the fledgling company took the mountain’s name in 1962 and began in earnest the journey that led to the phenomenal success that is the modern Takamine company. The timeline outlines that remarkable evolution.
Built with the performer in mind, the P5NC features Takamine's proprietary CT4-DX preamp system and unique Palathetic under-saddle pickup for superior amplified response. The dual-channel CT4-DX
provides a 4-band EQ, two feedback-reducing notch-filter controls, a flexible dual-pickup mix control (for use when a second pickup is added), volume control and an onboard tuner.
Other performance-enhancing features include Takamine's asymmetrical neck profile - which is slightly thinner on the bass side so that it fits the natural shape of your hand, resulting in a
comfortable feel and improved playability. The split bone saddle provides more accurate intonation, while bridge pin positioning optimizes the break angle to improve sustain and presence.
Premium design appointments include a rosewood fingerboard with abalone "dot-indot" inlays, a rosewood headcap, gold tuners with gold buttons, a natural bone nut and gloss natural finish.
Introducing the CT4-DX
The 2-channel CT4-DX offers the ultimate in preamp flexibility. Used with the Palathetic undersaddle pickup, it offers 4-band EQ (low, low mid, high mid, high) and two notch filter controls to reduce
feedback.
Add a second pickup and the CT4-DX gives you independent control over both pickups, each of which will then have two-band EQ and a notch filter control. You can also alter the mix levels of each of
the pickups. Other features include volume control and onboard tuner.

CT4B II Preamp Features
The CT4B II preamp is designed for ease of use and purity of tone. The CT4B II
consists of 3 bands of graphic EQ tone control, a volume control slider and a built-in chromatic tuner.
The 3 band EQ provides control over the bass (LOW), midrange (MID) and treble
(HIGH) frequency response. With the sliders set at the midpoint (0) the electric signal from the guitar is evenly balanced across the frequency range. The desired tone is then dialed in by using the
sliders to add or subtract frequency response as desired. Each frequency control slider will raise or lower the band response by +/-5db.
