Vintage Gibson Guitars

Let's face it, on the Gibson Vintage Page you have to see New Jersey's Les Paul. If it wasn't for Les and Leo, guitars just wouldn't be what they are today. Of course as years went on one group after another hit the cover of Rolling Stone with their Gibson. An image not forget is Slash, with top hat and that LP, and Peter Frampton doing the 1970's with one. While we're at it Harrison's and Clapton's SG, with their doubles horns, brings a smile to our memory. Each guitar is a different style and a slightly different sound. Gibson is a giant when it comes to Vintage Guitars.

      1973 Gibson SG Walnut

SG-100- What a fine ALL ORIGINAL 1971 Gibson GS and RARE too. This SG is definitely old school. She has a fat pickup like the Gibson Recording Guitars of that era. Note the cool print on the pup and bridge cover. All hardware is nickle with one volume and tone. Mahogany Body and Neck which is set. Neck is deep C and a little wider than traditional SG's. This is the guitar that other musicians say, "what is that he playing", on stage. Excellent Condition and she comes with all Original Gibson Hag Tags shown in pics. Original soft shell case. SOLD

1966 Firebird V- Every picture tells a story, don't it. Here's a story we wish the guitar could tell. Gibson produced 342 of these babies in 66, but how many are left? She in excellent condition in period case. This non-reverse bird can mellow rock and then growls like a piece of machinery. All original, a pleasure to play, and just as good to look at. Just ask Johnny Winter about his favorite guitar. We think this one has to stay in the herd for awhile.

Gibson 1966 Melody Maker- Gibson's answer to a rocking students guitar that became a legend. This baby's in above average condition. An 8 out of 10 with no problems. Finish and aging even and nice. Years ago a little extra glue added in neck pocket seam but guitar never damaged. These guitars were known for breaks, so it looks like a darker seam joint. Not even enough to photo and strong with no travel. Action fine and this baby can talk. A cool VINTAGE ALL ORIGINAL piece for sure. $1,295.00

 Gibson L-50 Late 40's Archtop

Yes Gibson L-50 Late 40's Archtop and she's in great shape. Plays like a dream and we made sure of that. Guitar is all original except for the wood nut that was on the guitar when we bought it, and a wonderful fret job that we did on it. Frets are vintage correct and fingerboard is straight with all notes sounding bright. Wear on top if headstock, the letters SC lightly engraved on back as you see in last photo, but all rest aged wear and looks right. No picguard as you can see. Surface checking as it should have for it's age. She's over 65 years old and a great guitar. Comes with no case but priced for a quick sale. SOLD

Here's a great sounding 1978 Gibson SG Custom. This baby's a wonderful buy. She looks to be a refin, has surface cracks on headstock, and body near neck pocket, (only surface in paint). We completely checked her out, set her up, and she's completely stable. This baby has the look, feel, and gives you that hard growl that the three Humbuckers are responsible for. The tuners have been replace by Locking Sperzel's and saddle also replaced. She's not complete original but is a wild child. Priced accordingly and comes with period hard shell case. SOLD

Gibson 1967 ES-335 TD- This guitar is all original, Exceptionally Gorgeous Pristine, and almost too good to be true. She boards sunburst finish, no over spray, with very little aging. All pots and 2 patent number pickups trace back to 67. No alterations, mods, and everything screams mint! This guitar performs as it should with flying colors. Comes with Original Gibson Hardshell Case near mint and original hang tag not filled out. MUSEUM QUALITY VERY RARE in this condition. Sorry, this beauty is SOLD.

Gibson Les Paul Goldtop- On stage all eyes are on this one. A 1970's player guitar that's in good natural road worn condition. Neck was repaired professional many years ago. Serial number was removed in process. As you can see from pictures, the repair was done the old fashion way. Today no one would take the time to repair a damage like this and it would be also very expensive. Wood was added for strength and headstock refinished. A new Les Paul logo was placed and the Gibson inlay repaired. Grover Tuners were installed. On side of body front strap button has an extra hole that was filled. The only other none original thing we could find is chrome bridge was replace. Original may have been nickle. Original Hard Shell Case has a happy face spray painted on the outside and is in fair condition for it's age. This baby weights 9 pounds as a LP should from the 70's. A very cool LP priced right. SOLD

Gibson 1966-71 Melody Maker- This is one you wont see to often. She's a SG body style with double pups. We usually don't buy refins, but this baby caught our eye. Guitar was refined many years ago. Checking located on body and neck that looks so cool. No issues and she dose sound great. Oh, the Purple Fender Vibro-King with gold hardware? Yes, she's a rare bird, but don't get your hopes up. In for repair. Melody maker SOLD

1985  Gibson Les Paul Custom

The nicest mid 80's Les Paul Custom you will find. She's a dream come true. Real nice wood, Honey to Vintage Burst Tone, 3 Ply Vintage White and Black Binding, Ebony Fingerboard, All Original with the exception of the Speed Knobs. The knobs were on this baby so we left them just as the original owner left her. For an 30 year guitar this baby comes thru with flying colors and we rate her at a solid 9.5 condition. Only one tiny edge on back has minimum clear coat loss and frets have a tiny bit of wear but not even enough for us to dress. Yes, that's the Original Gibson Chainsaw Hardshell Case. A quality Gibson LP Custom for sure. SOLD

Below 1973 Gibson SG Custom with Original Hardshell Case.  This Vintage Black Beauty is in excellent condition. It's all original except maybe for the speed knobs. Looks like the frets may have been dressed once, but no fret wear, and has plenty of fret left. The 1970-75 Gibson SG's were known to have low profile fast necks from the factory. Gold Hardware has patina and worn to show wonderfully. No issues, straight neck, no cosmetic issues either to really state. It is vintage. Case is Original case is missing 2 back metal feat bit all there and nice. SOLD
